Method

The standard is set before the ball is.

Nexus Performance Lab is a Football Performance company in Perth. New players are screened. The numbers choose the plan. The body is conditioned for the performance required.

Ryan Frankcom

Ryan Frankcom is a UEFA B Licence coach with over 20 years of senior playing experience, including semi-professional football in the United Kingdom and Australia, and international representation at U16–U18.

He applies the standards of a high-level playing environment directly to his coaching, with a clear focus on player development, accountability and a consistent drive for high performance.

His coaching education, shaped by the German Football Association’s (DFB) methodology, is organised around four performance domains — technical, tactical, physical and psychological. Practice is principle-led: quality of execution, decision-making under pressure, and professional standards of preparation.

Certified in football-performance strength and conditioning, he translates physical development into football-specific demands. The work is to identify, challenge and develop players on and off the pitch.

He holds a Western Australian Working with Children Check. Nexus Performance Lab is fully covered with public liability and professional indemnity insurance.

  1. 01 / Screen

    Performance screening

Eight 60-minute sessions. Speed, change of direction, aerobic capacity, movement, and football actions, then a written report. Data first. Then the plan.

  2. 02 / Build

    Performance S&C

One 45-minute session a week for eight weeks. Foundation strength so the body can take the work. Hinge, squat, single-leg, brace, then power.

  3. 03 / Move

    Functional Performance

Functional training and movement patterns. Sprint mechanics, deceleration, cutting, landing. The patterns that keep players on the pitch and make speed usable.

  4. 04 / Play

    On-ball sessions

1-to-1 and group football on the athletic base. First touch, scanning, 1v1, weaker foot — what shows on a match day.

Things you may want to know

What age do you take?
From 15. Under 16s need a parent at the session. The screen changes with age and maturation.
Do you replace club training?
No. We sit beside it. Tell us the club nights so we don't double-load.
Where are you?
Public pitches in Fremantle and the Perth region: Hilton Park and Tompkins Park. Indoor gym time is booked when a block needs it. The location is confirmed before the session.
What if it rains?
We move indoor or to the gym if we can, or we reschedule. You'll hear in advance.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Cancellations less than 24 hours before are non-refundable, or in some cases held as a session credit.
